7:35 pm	Just sitting and finishing my gelato. Lorenzo calls up. “Gnocchi, where are you?” “Hmm… I'm at 1 km away from Firenze.” “Oh, God. You’ve not reached Firenze yet?” “Not yet.” “Oh God.” It’s time of dinner for Giovanni and Francesco. I tell him please don’t wait for me, whenever I reach the center of the city, I will take the bus to go to his house for the dinner. He would like to “rescue” me but I say “I don’t want to, Lorenzo.” So I’m going to finish this walk.
7:46 pm	See a garden of sunflowers. At first it’s strange that the flowers all turn their back to the sun. But they are sun-flowers, aren't they? Then I remember that it's sunset (West). And the sunflowers probably just face to sunrise (East).

7:55 pm	Reaching the sign “Firenze”. Keep thinking that I am going to cry when I see my feet. Chuckle.
8:29 pm	Pass by a petrol station. Smell something like a Vietnamese sandwich, but that's impossible. Wonder why it takes so long to reach the center. Perhaps because I can’t walk fast anymore.
8:37 pm	Finishing the last drop of water.

8:42 pm	*Reach the Arno again. Throw my bottle into a trash can. Suddenly feel so sorry. It has been walking with me that long and I have been “kissing” it so many times on the way. Now when I am almost done, I just throw it away! But no way to take it back. The trash can is the one made for bottles, you throw the bottles through a hole! Now I pass the bridge, the Ponte G. Da Verrazzano*. Google map >

8:54 pm	I am going to call up Lorenzo.
9:06 pm	Still “User busy”.
9:11 pm	Lorenzo said “I'll be there in 10 minutes.” (Actually I did tell him that it was OK that I didn’t really reach the center of Firenze. I said “I am satisfied here, Lorenzo.”) I want him to come up to take me because I would like to see Giovanni and Francesco before they go to bed at 9.30 pm. I want to say goodbye to them before they leave to Sardegna for a month. I have been walking for 14 hours, only stopped for eating and writing.
